BORDERLINES is established to support the advancement of cross-cultural academic education and scholarship in the fields of Slavic studies, Jewish studies, and Slavic-Jewish studies.

Our aim is the promotion of scholastic inquiry in all branches of the humanities and social sciences, including but not limited to art history, cultural studies, history, literature, philosophy, politics, and religion.


Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Announces Grant for Reissuing and Promoting 42 Slavic Studies Titles as Free Ebooks

The Borderlines Foundation is delighted to announce that 42 of Academic Studies Press's previously published titles in Slavic studies are now freely available as open-access ebooks. This project is made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundations Humanities Open Book initiative. Curated into five thematic categories, including The New Eighteenth Century, Rediscovering the Russian Canon, Judaism and Its Interlocutors, Vernacular Modernisms, and Reading and Rereading Nabokov, books may be viewed at http://www.borderlinesfoundation.org/open. Links are provided to the book's dedicated JSTOR page to help accurately quantify downloads and geographic locations to better understand how open access is utilized and to future open access initiatives.

The Borderlines Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded, in collaboration with Academic Studies Press, a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to reissue and market 42 of ASP's previously published titles in Slavic studies as freely available open-access ebooks.

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Announces Grant for Contemporary Ukrainian Literature in English Translation Project

Borderlines Foundation for Academic Studies is the recipient of $73,500 toward the Contemporary Ukrainian Literature in English Translation project. These funds will support the preparation for publication in print and open access digital format of two volumes of contemporary Ukrainian poetry, fiction, and essays, edited and translated into English.
