Mission:

BORDERLINES is established to support the advancement of cross-cultural academic education and scholarship in the fields of Slavic studies, Jewish studies, and Slavic-Jewish studies.

Our aim is the promotion of scholastic inquiry in all branches of the humanities and social sciences, including but not limited to art history, cultural studies, history, literature, philosophy, politics, and religion.

We intend to work on the following types of projects:

  • Initiate and publishing new translations of the most important scholarship in the designated fields, key sources, as well as poetry and prose;

  • Initiate and publish new critical editions with the scholarly commentaries of the most important texts on Slavic, Jewish, Slavic-Jewish philosophy, religious thought, history, and literature;

  • Bring together scholars and teachers to prepare and publish new teaching resources for colleges with Slavic Studies, Jewish Studies, Slavic-Jewish studies curriculum, in both printed and digital format;

  • Expand the digital resources for the scholars and students in these fields by developing electronic library and bibliographic database;

  • Organize summer schools for the college and graduate students in Russia, Ukraine, and Israel for the advance studies of the languages and cultural studies courses and workshops.

  • Call the panels and round-tables at the conferences and conventions for discussing the current issues and challenges in scholarship in Slavic, Jewish, Slavic-Jewish Studies.

The purpose of BORDERLINES is to fund these expensive and non-commercial projects through applying for grants by state and philanthropic organizations.
